Tsurukamedou Jakarta: Unspoken Ramen House in Jakarta

 Tsurukamedou Jakarta

Not only in Singapore, but also in Jakarta, I would travel for noodle. I need to admit, I already consume more than 300 bowls of ramen in my life and keep on increasing until now. In fact, ramen house in Jakarta is not that much like in Singapore. Only a few authentic ramen house available and not all of them taste as good as I expected. Luckily, Tsukuramedou exists.

Established in 2013, Tsurukamedou is originally from Niigata, Japan. They have eight outlets in Japan and keep on expanding. My fellow food critiques already visit this venue and classified them as the best ramen house in town. After I check them out, I do verify that statement. Perhaps, they are not only the best but also the most authentic ramen in Jakarta so far.

Tsurukamedou Jakarta

 Tsurukamedou Jakarta

Nestled in Taman Ratu Kemuning exactly opposite Papa Mama Coffee & Bakery, Tsurukamedou owning a small dining area with welcoming ambiance. Inside the venue, you might see a wooden furniture with an open kitchen at the back. It is simply minimalist from my perspective but quite strong in Japanese touch. What impressed me a lot is the humbleness from each staff that greets every customer with a smile. However, they never too packed with people. I visit them on weekdays and only several tables being occupied.

 Tonkotsu Ramen

 Tonkotsu Ramen

Start with the crowd pleaser menu called Tonkotsu Ramen (IDR 54,500 / S$ 6,05 / Regular). Featuring the silky smooth noodle with juicy slabs of charsiew and half boiled eggs; bathed in creamy pork broth. Just look at that beautiful noodle strand which is tasty and tad soggy. Once you slurp it, you can feel the perfect thickness of that noodle which just melts in your mouth. Even that meat is fork tender as well. Delicious.

 Dry Ramen

 Dry Ramen

They just launched a new menu called Dry Ramen (NEW), a similar item like the previous list but they just separated that soup with the noodle. There is two way to enjoying your noodle: dip, bath, or either way. I strongly suggest you dip it like Tsukemen which add a bit of fun part for your meal. In fact, I just realized the original portion of noodle bowl in Tsurukamedou is quite big and generous. Therefore, it will fulfill your tummy properly.

 Buta Chahan

 Buta Chahan

If you didn't like ramen, then get this beautiful Buta Chahan (IDR 38,000 / S$ 4,40). Featuring the Japanese style stir fried rice with egg, charsiew cube, and spring onion. The winning element for this menu is the rice itself which is fragrant and salty. There is a strong wok aroma there and a little bit of spiciness from that extra chili oil. Worth every penny.

 Buta Gyoza

 Chicken Karaage

Still not enough? Chicken Karaage (IDR 39,000 / S$ 4,50), a perfectly battered chicken tender with mayo sauce or Buta Gyoza (IDR 38,000 / S$ 4,40), a handmade Japanese dumpling with minced pork filling could be your last choice. Both items are simple but packed with flavor. Nevertheless, it still affordable as well.

For the beverage, I never expect for something unless Cold/Hot Ocha which is only refreshing and naturally fresh. They sell other canned drink but depends on the availability. Do ask the waiter for more details.

 Tsurukamedou Jakarta

Tsurukamedou Jakarta is one of my favorite ramen house in town. All the noodle dishes are delicious, good looking, and satisfying. Even the side dishes itself taste better than it looks. You must try this! :)
