Manse Korean Grill: Affordable Korean BBQ in PIK

Manse Korean Grill

Korean food invasion truly happens in Jakarta. Since last few years, our city has been filled with more Kimchi and Samgyeopsal or even Pajon. The reason why our people love to eat Korean food is that the healthy and tasty purpose. For instance, Sundubu Jigae could be analogous as Sup Tahu Asam Pedas which suits our taste buds properly. Therefore, I am the member of Korean food fanatic this time.

Recently, I got a few requests to review more affordable Korean food in Jakarta. Perhaps, Manse Korean Grill is top of that class. Established in 2016, Manse Korean Grill is a brand new business venture by a young woman called Tiara with her little sister and her boyfriend who is Korean. No wonder you can expect for better Korean food in the comfortable and traditional style of dining right here.

Tucked away in Foodplaza PIK exactly beside Nasi Uduk Bu Jum, Manse Korean Grill is located outdoor and small. There is few table available with a minimalist setup. What I love the most from this venue is the free system which is fresh and surrounded by nature breeze and fresh air. The staff is humble and friendly as well. I come to this venue on Friday and not so many people there. Therefore, no reservation necessary.

As the starter, Manse Korean Grill would start by giving each customer a tray full of side dishes. Just have it while waiting for your meal until ready.

 Samgyeopsal

Samgyeopsal

 Samgyeopsal

Known for their Ultimate Korean BBQ, be sure to try the iconic meat called Samgyeopsal (IDR 75,000 / S$ 8,10 / 200gr). Featuring juicy slabs of pork meat grilled over hot charcoal, served with spicy soy sauce and salt. The main highlight of this menu is the aroma of that meat which is fragrant and fatty. I only eat several pieces of it since it comes in a generous portion. Do share this with 2 or 3 people at max. Also, you can ask the staff to cook that meat at the back kitchen, or you can do it by yourself.

 Jya Jang Myeon

 Jya Jang Myeon

Noodle is my favorite food on earth. I need to admit this Jja Jang Myeon (IDR 35,000 / S$ 4,10) is quite delicious and suits my standard. Featuring the ultra-smooth noodle with sunny side up and potato; coated in black bean sauce. The wow part is that black bean sauce which is thick and gooey. Together with sunny side up on top, this menu is my highly recommended.

 Shin Ramyeon

Another noodle dishes is Shin Ramyeon (IDR 35,000 / S$ 4,10), a completely springy noodle with egg and more cheese; bathed in hot soup. Compared to the previous menu, this one is a bit soggy and less taste. You might need to ask for more chili for an extra heat or extra cheese as well.

 Tteokbokki

 Tteokbokki

 Oden

Still not enough? They served some kind of appetizers including Tteokbokki, a nicely cooked rice cake bathed in Korean hot sauce, and Oden (IDR 15,000 / piece), a beautifully handmade fishcake immersed in rich chicken stock. Both items are just warm and comforting.

 Soju

For the beverage, never leave the opportunity to taste the real Soju from Korea together with any choice of alcoholic drink as well. If you following any Korean drama, they always have Soju while feasting those barbecue meat. This time, I would follow that rule! :)

 Manse Korean Grill

Manse Korean Grill is completely worth a try. All menu is nicely presented and taste quite good. That Jajangmyeon is my favorite menu by far together with that Korean BBQ. Nevertheless, it still affordable as well. Time to eat?
