Dapur Triple: Homemade Swissroll Cake

 Dapur Triple

Roll cake is a lot in Jakarta, but none as moist as Dapur Triple creations. Using only the finest ingredients, no food coloring, and no preservatives; each goodie is naturally sweet and delicious.

Established in 2016, Dapur Triple is a family run business, headed by a young blood who are passionate in baking. Specialized in Swiss Roll Cake, they can sell more than 20 yummy boxes every day. Even though, they sell another type of cakes and cookies as well. From what I found, Nastar and Cupcakes are also a favorite item here. However, they only make every cake based on the request. Just place yours now! :)

 Double Cheese Roll Cake

 Double Cheese Roll Cake

 Double Cheese Roll Cake

Double Cheese Roll Cake (IDR 130,000 / S$ 14,60) is what impresses me a lot. Featuring the perfectly moist rolled cake with a layer of butter and cherry; topped with cheese and MORE CHEESE. The sweetness and moistness level is absolute! I never find a better roll cake regarding both elements. Another highlight behind this cake is the presentation and size which is pretty and affordable. You can cut the whole cake into eight big pieces.

 Mocha Ceres Roll Cake

 Mocha Ceres Roll Cake

My mom loves the Mocha Ceres Roll Cake (IDR 130,000 / S$ 14,60) so much. It is because of the mocha cream, mainly, not too sweet and got a perfect creaminess level like no other. Once you bite it, you can feel the moistness of cake at first followed by the complexity of chocolate and cream. Reducing the butter level by adding more cream and chocolate is a perfect idea behind this cake. Delicious.

 Double Chocolate Roll Cake

 Double Chocolate Roll Cake

Double Chocolate Roll Cake (IDR 130,000 / S$ 14,60) is another rising star item by Dapur Triple. As you can see on their Instagram account, they got a special order for this product around 20 - 30 box at a time. And yes, I need to admit, this menu is quite satisfying regarding flavor and texture. It tastes sweeter than my expectation, but still acceptable. If you are a chocolate fanatic like me, just go ahead with this item.

 Dapur Triple

Dapur Triple has caught my attention since I am living in Singapore. All the cake is freshly baked upon request, and no preservatives added. You can put the order using WA/Line/Email. Fastest response is using WA. Just enjoy your roll cake and share the stories with me! :)

Warteg Gaspol: Local Food In The Whole New Level

Warteg Gaspol

I am a bit skeptical when heard about Warteg (Traditional Sundanese Food) because it always comes in the simple yet delicious way. However, I just remove that feeling after visiting this incredible local venue called Warteg Gaspol.

Established in 2015, Warteg Gaspol is introduced by five young bloods who are the alumni of Institute Teknologi Bandung (ITB), the finest engineering and technological uni in Indonesia. During the uni life, they quite often eat Warteg around the coverage. Warteg can be simplified as the fastest and easiest venue to eat for college students. Until one of them sounding on the group to create a similar F&B concept which is affordable but delicious and local. Therefore, Warteg Gaspol is just founded.

 Ayam Goreng

Nestled in Southbox Kemang exactly on the second floor of this food court, Warteg Gaspol own a pretty small food display at the corner. Once you stepped inside the venue, there might be two chefs never stop working in the kitchen to spread up the good aroma of the freshly cooked meal. Every time the availability of each menu would vary. It is better to come earlier instead of late. Because you will see a huge crowd from GO-FOOD, who accept the delivery service.

 Nasi Kerang

 Nasi Kerang

Start with the crowd pleaser menu called Nasi Kerang. Featuring the stir fried green mussels with chili, tamarind, and various spices; served with sunny side up. It's fresh, moist, and tasty. There is a strong ocean flavor from that meat, but the spices are kind of overpowering the palate. If you love spicy food, this menu gets an extra star because of that additional chili padi. The flavor that you ever imagine about this dish is exactly what you got. Pretty honest food :)

 Nasi Tuna

Nasi Tuna

I am a big fan of their Nasi Tuna. Featuring the fork tender tuna cube bathed in spicy green chili; served with sunny side up. No one falls below my expectation. Each element blend well in my mouth and completely satisfying. It is almost impossible to find a real tuna meat on any Warteg venue. But, they execute it well.

 Nasi Cumi

 Nasi Cumi

Nasi Cumi is another best-selling item here. In fact, it tastes better than it looks. The mini squid is just chewy and muscular while that red hot sauce entirely minds blowing! :) Not too spicy, but you can feel the heat there. Served with fragrant rice and sunny side up, what can you expect more than this? :)

For the beverage, they serve any kind of canned drink (non alcohol). Either coca-cola or Teh Kotak, all come at reasonable prices. But, I just prefer a mineral water instead.

 Warteg Gaspol

Warteg Gaspol is a gastronome's dreams come true. If you want to taste the real Indonesian food, then you should come here. Perhaps, all menu taste so authentic and fresh all the time. I just expect for a bigger portion, maybe? :) Worth a try!

Bakso 2Nyonya: Meatball In The Next Level

 Bakso 2Nyonya

Bakso is one of the greatest street food in Jakarta. Year-by-year, the growth of bakso house, is unquestionably happened. More young entrepreneurs tend to create their signature meatball dishes (Re: semangkuk bakso) and innovate with it. Either by adding more chili, more cheese, or more meat; the presence of meatball could be reinterpreted. Therefore, Bakso 2 Nyonya is what I mean.

Established early this year, Bakso 2Nyonya is a new baby in bakso industry. Start with the humble beginning in the past, and they used a cart to sell those meatball dishes. During that time they have more than 50 customers a day, and within that kind of environment, it is not possible to serve that number of people at the same time. Until they decided to move to a new place right on the opposite of their former location with a better environment.

 Bakso 2Nyonya

Bakso 2Nyonya

 Bakso 2Nyonya

Located in Tanjung Duren area, Bakso 2Nyonya own a Kopitiam style dining area. It kindly reminds me about hawker food stall in Singapore which is straightforward and minimalist. Once you stepped inside the venue, you can smell the beautiful aroma of bakso and bakmie (Re: noodle). It is kind of warm here since they didn't use any AC. But still, I just love this place.

 Yamin Rica-Rica

 Yamin Rica-Rica

 Yamin Rica-Rica

 Yamin Rica-Rica

I need to admit this Yamin Rica Komplit (IDR 25,000 / S$ 3,10) is one of the best noodles in West Jakarta. Featuring an ultra-smooth noodle with spicy and cheesy meatballs; covered in sweet soy sauce. Whenever you slurp it, you can feel each strand of noodle just spread nicely and comprehensively al dante. Since I love sweet soy sauce, this menu completely satisfying. Just have it while it warm for the best experience.

Bakso Komplit

 Bakso Komplit

 Bakso Komplit

They are known for Bakso Komplit (IDR 23,000 / S$ 2,90), a bowl full of meatball including rawit (spicy), keju (cheese), urat (tendon), and halus (original); topped with sum sum. It's simple, tasty, and comforting. Perhaps, the real winner of that bowl of bakso is that soup. You can feel the meatiness, creaminess, and perfect blend of spices all in one spoon. That meatball is also handmade without any preservatives; no wonder you can feel the bounciness and juiciness texture of it.

 Bakso Goreng Sambal Matah

 Bakso Goreng Sambal Matah

A new menu that you must try is Bakso Goreng Sambal Matah. Featuring the nicely cooked meatball with fragrant rice; bathed in sambal matah sauce. This item is utterly stunning! The spiciness, sweetness, and saltiness level of it is just perfect. Also, that sambal matah is nicely executed which I ask for more. One portion is quite generous; you can share it for two.

 Bakso 2Nyonya

Bakso 2Nyonya is one of the great destination for meatball and Noodle. The menu itself is innovative and attractive. Either you are a spicy, sweet, or salty person; they got a proper meal for you. Also, they did not have any AC within the dining area. Just use a casual outfit to avoid hot and steam feelings during your feasting.

Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan: Comfort Food At Its Finest

 Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan

As a proud Indonesian who love local food more than anything else, I would travel anywhere to find the best bakso malang and batagor in town. Bakso malang and batagor are originally from Malang and/or Bandung. Both menus is a type of street food that never faded away and keep on growing until now. The rise of young entrepreneurs like Leo and Nathan, his colleague, has successfully brought the authentic local food into the next level. Therefore, those guys are the founder of Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan or simplified as Atan Food.

Established in 2016, Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan is classified as a new baby in the market. Specialized in Bakso Malang (Indonesian Meatball Soup) and Batagor (Deep Fried Fish Cake with Peanut Sauce), guest can mix-and-match any ingredients into one plate. Siomay (Siumay), Pangsit Goreng (Fried Wonton), Tahu Isi (Chewy Beancurd stuffed with Meat), Bakso Urat (Handmade Meatball), Bakso Goreng (Fried Meatball), etc. is part of those ingredients which are freshly made daily without any preservatives and food coloring. Do expect for the beautiful and nice texture of meat like no other here.

Having three outlets citywide, this is the pop-up shop in Mal Taman Anggrek. There is no iconic element here unless the food gallery itself. With beautiful stacks of bakso goreng, pangsit goreng, and more, each guest might be caught mouthwatering all the time. Also, they only have two staffs here, no wonder if the queue would never get a stop.

Star with the crowd pleaser menu called Bakso Malang. Featuring the full bowl of bakso goreng, pangsit goreng, tahu isi, and siumay; bathed in rich chicken stock. It's crispy, meaty, and packed with flavor. Perhaps, the real star on that bowl of goodness is just everything! Each element got a different taste that surprisingly delicious and stunning. With that hot soup, you might feel a true complexity between crispiness and wetness. Nevertheless, it remains warm until the last bite of it. Must try.

 Batagor

Batagor is another signature menu collection by Atan Food. Featuring the deep fried fish cake in the form of wonton, dumplings, a mixture of meat; bathed in gooey peanut sauce. Once you taste it, you might feel the perfect crunchy texture at first followed by the sweetness and creaminess from that peanut sauce. The best thing behind this menu is that fish cake which got less oily but meatier texture. Just have it while it warm for the best experience.

 Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan

Bakso Malang and Batagor Atan (Atan Food) is one of the outstanding examples of young entrepreneurs who preserve the authentic taste of local food, even elevate it to new heights. Either Bakso Malang or Batagor, both menu is right regarding flavor and texture. But, personally, I do recommend you to try the Bakso Malang which is warm and comforting. It is rainy outside, and I think you need this more. How do you say? Just let me know your comment after taste this! :)
