Machida Shoten Singapore: Heroic Ramen From Kanagawa Prefecture

Machida Shoten Singapore

Machida Shoten is originally from Kanagawa Prefecture. Specialized in "Iekei" ramen which translates as "house-made" ramen, every noodle here are cooked based on your preferred firmness. Either hard, normal, or soft, every guest got their standard.

A bit background of them, Machida Shoten got their first physical store in Machida City Tokyo exactly in 2008. With significant consistency and robust menu collections, this brand has launched another 45 outlets in Japan, and they have led more than 400 stores across the country.

Nestled in Wisma Atria precisely at the Japan Food Town, Machida Shoten Singapore own a mid-size dining area compare to the general ramen store. Stepped inside the restaurant feels like entering the authentic ramen store in the outskirts area of Tokyo with a touch of modernity. Surrounded by wooden furniture and open kitchen counter, the whole area would embrace a strong aroma of ramen and just warm enough to keep you stay. The handsome chef behind that kitchen is what attract the woman a lot. Meanwhile, from my perspective, the fast cooking process is what impress me a lot.

Shoyu Ramen Special

Shoyu Ramen Special

Whenever you come here, the must-try item at first is Shoyu Ramen Special (S$ 18.00). Featuring the silky smooth noodle with juicy slabs of meat, fresh vegetables, and soft boiled egg; bathed in creamy pork broth. According to what I read on the menu, you need to add on more pepper, chili, and garlic for the best ramen dining experience. Therefore, I do apply it on my meal, and it tastes undeniably gorgeous. It would be comparable as Nantsuttei Ramen with better soup. Even, you can enjoy this ramen to the fullest without adding another seasoning.

Tonkotsu Shio Ramen Special

Another best-selling item here is Tonkotsu Shio Ramen Special (S$ 18.00). This menu is comparable with the previous menu but slightly richer. That butter has successfully enhanced the whole flavor of that soup, and that noodle is a bit chewier than before. Just pop that egg on top and let that runny egg yolk moisturize your meat more. Also, if you love a bit of heat, make sure to add three tablespoons of chili oil for the best ramen dining experience.

Prawn Gyoza

Charsiew Croquette

Charsiew Croquette

Still not enough? Shrimp Gyoza (S$ 9,80) and Charsiew Croquette (S$ 9,80) is the limited item for Singapore stall only! Both pieces are nicely cooked, packed with flavor, and unbelievably delicious. Between two item, I would like to suggest you try the Charsiew Croquette more since the meatball texture is completely satisfying. Not too meaty but quite airy and dense at the edges.

For the beverage, I only order the Iced Water (Free). If you are looking for Asahi Beer or any other kind of drinks, feel free to ask the staff.

Machida Shoten Singapore

Machida Shoten Singapore is one of the best ramen restaurants in Singapore. All menu here is handcrafted to the perfection and taste completely delicious. Make sure you won't missed the limited item like Prawn Gyoza and Charsiew Croquette to be served with any choice of ramen.
