Rumah Makan Ampera 2 Tak

Jakarta is a city that allows you to get fat easily. There are tons of good food here to pamper your taste buds like never. In case you are looking for the authentic local delicacies, Rumah Makan Ampera 2 Tak can be the idea.

Established in 2010, Rumah Makan Ampera 2 Tak never changes much. Presenting for more than 20 menus daily, guest will find their ultimate favorite right here. Let say Ayam Goreng (Fried Chicken), Bakwan Jagung (Corn Fritters), or even Sayur Asem (Sweet and Sour Soup) is all there. During my visit, I found the owner is completely humble and friendly. Every customer has been greeted with a smile.

Strategically located in Cikini, Rumah Makan Ampera 2 Tak own a very spacious dining area. Designed with open-air ventilation, wooden furniture, and small kitchen counter, this venue boasting the authentic yet traditional Indonesian dining experience. No wonder this venue is always packed with people. I visit this place during Sunday lunch time, and the queue lasts for approximately 20 minutes.

Stepped inside the venue, guest can see the gigantic food gallery at the front together with tons of hungry people who joining the crowd. I love the positive energy there. People seems like enjoying their meal while having a small chat with their partners. The self-service system allows you to take any food that you like on the cabinets and ask them to heat it up. Payment would be made after you finish feasting.

Ikan Goreng

Ayam Goreng

Cumi Goreng

Empal Goreng

Ikan Gurami Goreng

There are several types of protein available here including Empal Goreng (Rp. 11,000), Ikan Goreng (Rp. 12,000), Ayam Goreng (Rp. 11,000), Paru Goreng (Rp. 10,000), Babat Goreng (Rp. 9,500), and any other chicken organs.

Personally, I do recommend you to try the Ikan Goreng as known as Fried Fish Fillet. The nicely cooked white fish is crispy on the outside and juicy at the core. In fact, the flavor is not even strong. I only can feel the saltiness and freshness on it. That is why they served this with the side of Sambal Tomat (Tomatoes Chilli) that is quite sweet and spicy. Feel free to dip it for an extra heat.

Paru Goreng

Ayam Goreng

You are not in Jakarta if you haven't eaten Ayam Goreng. Featuring the nicely cooked chicken with fewer seasonings. The main highlight of this protein located on that glistening skin which is crispy and a bit of crunchy. However, I found the meat is not as juicy as I expected. Better have the Ikan Goreng or Empal Goreng instead.

Indonesian Street Food

Telur Dadar

Moving on to the side dishes, you might find tons of option here. Ranging from Indonesian tempeh to the silky tofu is all set in a beautiful stack.

Peyek Udang

Peyek Udang

Recently, I got tons of recommendation from all of you on Instagram Direct Message to try the Pesek Udang (Rp. 3,500) or known as Prawn Fritters. And yes, I am feeling thankful for that since it tastes beyond what it looks. The prawn is fresh and tender while that cracker itself is just crispy. Once I bite it, there would be a perfect harmony between both elements that just blends really well in my mouth. Simply appetizing.

Bakwan Jagung

Bakwan Jagung

Also, I try the Bakwan Jagung (Rp. 3,500) which known as Corn Fritters in several Asian countries. One thing that makes me loving this item is because of the spongy and juicy texture of it. Even the corn itself is naturally sweet and fresh. Better try it straightaway.

Tempeh Goreng

Tahu Goreng

Tempeh (Rp. 3,000) and Tahu (Rp. 2,500) is essential on any Indonesian food eatery. It's a perfect side dish to be paired with ayam goreng, steam rice, and spicy chili. One piece might never enough.

Sayur Asem

Sayur Asem

Sayur Asem (Rp. 7,000) is a popular Indonesian tamarind dish. Featuring a perfect combination of roasted peanuts, young jackfruit, melinjo, belimbi, chayote, long beans, and tamarind-based soups. It's soft, light, and flavourful. It will add a bit of soggy texture to your rice and more tangy texture to your protein. Thanks for those who recommend me to try this dish right here! :)
