Recently, I've got a lot of recommendations from most of you to try Nasi Uduk Bu Jum PIK. Approximately there 15 people who drop me a message on Instagram and kindly ask me to try this magnificent local food stall. After doing a research, finally, I made my trip down here.
Established in 2015, Nasi Uduk Bu Jum PIK draws its popularity for their unique setup of food gallery. Within the food gallery, there are more than 30 menus available including ayam goreng (fried chicken), empal goreng (marinated beef meat), cumi sambal hijau (stir-fried calamari with green chili), and much more. Owned by the young couple who is humble and friendly, each guest would be greeted by a smile and warm hospitality each day.
Nestled in Food Market PIK, Nasi Uduk Bu Jum PIK owns a huge dining area at the front. Never come here during lunch time, since they start operating on 6pm. If you are a first timer here, don't be confused to find them. Just see a huge crowd with a moderate line of the queue, because it would be them. Another eye-catching attribute of them is a giant food truck decor in which represent the food gallery.
Once you follow the line, you will see a rack full of meat at the front followed by some kind of light bites.
From dozens type of meat available. I do recommend you to try Ayam Bakar (IDR 20,000), a nicely grilled chicken with tender meat and chewy skin. Also, you should try their Empal Goreng (IDR 20,000), a perfectly marinated beef tender. Some kind of Cumi Goreng (IDR 20,000) or Ikan Goreng (IDR 20,000) also not bad from what I heard that time during my visit.
The other crowd pleaser menu here is Bihun Goreng (IDR 10,000), a sweet glass noodle that cooked over the hot pan with strong wok hei aroma. Other than that, Ikan Asin Cabe Hijau (IDR 10,000) set a completely unique taste than ever. That fish is not too salty, but kind of spicy and bit of sweet. Both menus is my best decision to make here.
Another great menu here would be Cumi Cabe Hijau (IDR 10,000), a perfectly cooked squid over green hot chili and served with fried shallots on top. Apart from what you recommend me earlier, I also find that Kerecek (IDR 10,000) is unbelievably good. This menu is originally from Central Java as known as cattle skin spicy stew dish. It's not too spicy, either salty, but absolutely well balanced. The must-try menu here.
Another highlight of the visit is Bakwan Jagung (IDR 5,000), a nicely crisp prawn fritters with slightly sweet taste and juicy texture. It is a perfect side dish for any occasion. Also, Tahu Bacem (IDR 5,000) and Tempeh Bacem (IDR 5,000) is hard to resist. As its title suggest, bacem is means marinated over the certain period of time in order to set a completely tasty flavor to that protein. Perfect match with a plate of Nasi Uduk.
For the beverage, they also served some kind of juice including Orange Juice or Guava Juice. Kindly ask the staff for availability.
Nasi Uduk Bu Jum is a perfect destination for homey Indonesian delicacies. Each menu is made fresh daily and none of them taste outperform. Plus point, it still affordable as it looks. Just follow my recommendation above and you will enjoy this spot as much as I do.
Huge thanks for most of you who recommend me to try this spot. I do enjoy my time here and looking forward to another visit nearly in the future! :)
