Ramen scene in Singapore is always evolving. Within short term period, there would be a new ramen stall in town. But not all of them is satisfying. In case you are looking for the best ramen venue to impress your friend or colleague, Ramen Keisuke Lobster King is the best idea.
Established in 2016, this prestigious brand has been awarded by many local and international media. Headed by Chef Keisuke Takeda who has been nominated as the best ramen chef in the world, every bowl of ramen here is absolutely rich and fresh. Perhaps, the winning formula lies in the meticulous culinary approach that takes inspiration from French signature menu called lobster bisque. Using only the freshest lobster that directly imported from French, the strong characteristics of broth is just there. Creamy and thick like never exist.
To enhance the flavor, all broth has been simmered for more than 6 hours daily and still cooked with other secret spices as well. No wonder, this venue has been listed on top of my food list in Singapore.
Tucked away in Clarke Quay, this venue own a mid-size dining area. With open kitchen counter at the front, guest by far can smell the nicely cooked noodle and pork meat as well. The main highlight of this venue is the ultra-long queue. There would be around 35 people in line at 7.30pm and keep on increasing until midnight.
Start with the crowd pleaser menu called Spicy Miso Lobster Ramen Special (S$ 21.90). Featuring the nicely cooked noodle topped with meat slabs, housemade wonton, half-boiled egg, and meatballs, bathed in rich lobster broth. It's soft, kind of creamy, and flavourful. No additional sauce needed because the richness is all there. Definitely must-try.
Instead of rich soup, some of you might prefer the clear soup that tastes lighter but still creamy. This one called Lobster Ramen Special with Rich Soup (S$ 20.90) Same as the previous menu, all the ingredients is perfectly cooked and boost up a dynamic flavor and texture. That meatball is chewy and juicy while that wonton is soft and meaty. I definitely love the feeling when placing that charsiu in my tongue and it will start dissolving immediately with less chew means ultra-tender. Just drink that soup before leaving to keep your tummy full the whole night.
Still not enough? Deep Fried Chicken (S$ 9.80) is also delicious. That chicken is perfectly battered with crispy skin on the outside and juicy meat on the inside. Then, topped with housemade tartare sauce, all the flavor is just there and it another dimension of texture like creamy and soggy will be added. Another alternative to enjoy this is by bath it in your bowl of ramen.
For the beverages, they sold the free refill Ocha (S$ 3.00) and free Iced Water as well. Do ask the staff for further assistance.
Ramen Keisuke Lobster King is definitely must-try. All menu is made fresh and the richness of that lobster broth is unbeatable. I love the noodle texture which is not too soft but still chewy and flavourful. Remember to order the Chicken Nanban as sides for share.
