Hot Hot Pot: Spicy Hot Food in Singapore

Ma La Hotpot

Recently established a month ago, Hot Hot Pot is the newest venture in the downtown area of Singapore. Offering a freshly made fragrant hot pot with tons of ingredients to satisfy your spicy food crave. Ranging from the juicy luncheon meat to the succulent prawn, all set in vary different prices but still affordable.

For those who didn't know what is Ma La Hotpot, let me explain it a bit. Originally from Chongqing, China, Ma La Hotpot is a spicy dry hot pot that made using spicy dry chili, chili oil, and any choice of ingredients, then topped with roasted nuts and coriander. Knowing that not each of you can eat spicy food, there is a spiciness level that can be chosen from level 1 - 7. Personally, I prefer level 3 that taste not too spicy but still fragrant and have a bit of kick.

Tucked away in Food Republic Suntec City exactly at the front row beside Crystal Jade Kitchen, this latest brand owned a quite spacious food stall. The attractive food gallery with a clean design is easily spotted during my visit last time. However, the staff is not responsive when taking my order.

Fish

Tomatoes

Paprika

Luncheon Meat

Egg Noodle

There are around 20 different ingredients here including raw meat, fresh vegetables, and some kind of nuggets. Whatever you take will be weighed in grams in order to adjust the prices. Even for every meat, there would be a slightly different price as well.

My lasting favorite is Egg Noodle, Enoki Mushroom, Crab Stick, Fish Cake, and Tofu. This kind of combination is quite simple but seriously delicious. That crab stick and fish cake are quite juicy and fresh while that noodle is perfectly springy and bit of chewy. Stir fried with the ma la base, this meal is just comforting for one person only.

Another combination that I love is featuring the Po Chai, Chicken Sausage, Slices of Beef, and Beancurd. This kind of simple combination once again, deliver a strong wok aroma. I love the chewy texture of that beancurd that lasted for seconds. Paired with a bowl of steam rice and this menu is just delicious.

Hot Hot Pot

Hot Hot Pot is quite good in terms of taste and freshness. The ma la base here is not too strong but still authentic and delicious. The best point is affordable for everyone.
