Tucked away on Sixth Avenue exactly in Kopitown, Chi Jia Xiao Chao own a quite spacious stall at the front. Whenever you step into the venue, you can see a long queue together with the beautiful aroma of freshly home cooked dishes. Mostly the loyal customer here is town residents who are living around the area together with some kind of tourists as well. Just sit at the outdoor section and breath with fresh air.

Cereal Prawn

Cereal Prawn

Cereal Prawn

Start with the crowd-pleaser menu called Cereal Prawn (S$ 16.00 / Small). Featuring the perfectly cooked prawn, bathed with decent crumble and multiple spices. It's juicy, tender, and flavourful. Whenever you bite it, you can feel the freshness of that prawn that lasting for a couple of seconds in your mouth. Just dip it nicely to chili sauce for the extra heat. One of the best on its class.

Sweet and Sour Pork Rice

Sweet and Sour Pork Rice

I definitely impress with their Sweet & Sour Pork Rice (S$ 5.00). The meat is ultra juicy and moist while that sauce is truly fragrant and sweeter. Together with a chop of vegetables and sunny side up, this menu is the just distinction on its own.

Salted Egg Chicken

Some of you suggest me to try their Salted Egg Chicken Rice (S$ 5.00) and surprisingly it taste quite good for my liking. The chicken was tender, a little bit dry, but soaked up the richness of that sauce. In terms of flavor, I would say it's sweeter than what I expected to be. However, within that price tag, I would be back for more.

Ngoh Hiang

Prawn Roll

Still not enough? Just order a plate of Prawn Roll (S$ 6.00 / Small) and share it with your loved one. Our locals called this as Ngoh Hiang and it tastes definitely delicious. The small pieces of prawn spotted at the center of that meat mixture, then wrapped in crispy bean curd. Such a good way to end up the night.

Chi Jia Xiao Chao

Chi Jia Xiao Chao is one of the best Chinese and seafood restaurants in West side of Singapore. Every meal here tastes good, especially that Cereal Prawn and Sweet & Sour Pork Rice. Plus points, each meal is just affordable.
