In Singapore, there is a good establishment who offer you the remarkable fish & chips dishes in reasonable prices and generous settings, Manhattan Fish Market. Draws its inspiration from the most famous Futton Fish Market where dozens of fish is freshly caught every day, this brand aim to serve the highest quality seafood in casual dining concept. Just bring your family or friend here and enjoy the wide variety of American-style seafood choices.
Established in 2009, Manhattan Fish Market got more than 70 outlets across Asia including 13 outlets in Singapore. The one that you see here is located at the Suntec City Mall which owns a huge dining area and a lot of part-time staff. During the weekday, the huge crowd of white collar shirt and university students is absolutely seen. While on the weekend, the crowd is slightly reduced and not even queue at all.

Stepped inside the venue, guest can see the minimalist interior design with vibrant accessories. Since the spacing between each table is really close, other people's talk can be heard or even the space for moving your body is absolutely limited. It is not comfortable actually. Even though, the staff seems to be friendly and responsive. There is a huge noise comes out from the other table that quite often disturbs your quality dining time. Perhaps, the better time to visit this place is before or after meal hours.
The only reason why people visit Manhattan Fish Market Singapore quite often is here. Small Flame (S$ 19.95), the legendary menus that put emphasis on flaming prawns with grilled dory fillet on a bed of Garlic Herb rice, chips and hot veggies. Guest would be pleased by the juiciness of that prawn and ultra-tender fish like no other. However, the rice seems to be quite dry. I do expect more flavor from it.
Fishy Chicky Bang Bang (S$ 14.95) is really attracting somehow. The juiciness of fish meets the creaminess of melted cheese then covered with tender chicken fillet results in meaty texture for your palate. Served together with sunny side up and a bunch of fries on the side, this menu is just comforting yet satisfying.
The best menu during my visit is Scallops Fish Chicken (SFC) (S$ 18.95). Featuring the full plate of grilled chicken, crispy fish fingers and fried scallops served with aromatic garlic herb rice, thick cut fries, and hot veggies is undeniably delicious. What I love the most besides its flavor and texture is the generous presentation on that plate. Simple but absolutely eye-catching. Make sure to try this.
For the soup of the day, Cream of Chicken (S$ 5.00) can be categorized as the great one. The juicy pieces of meat meet the richness of cream soup is just salty and fragrant. Since it comes in warm condition, better eat it fast before turned into a cold form dishes.
Choice of beverages is abundance. But I still prefer the Sunset by The Bay (S$ 6.00) which cover the freshness of peach and smoothness of earl gray tea. Besides that, the Melon Breeze (S$ 5.50) is also satisfying. The spring mocktail with citrus strawberry, watermelon, and the lemon concoction is not only sweet but also refreshing. Do pair this with any choice of meal do you love.
Since 2009, Manhattan Fish Market has been awarded by many international media including "Most Influential Brands, International Franchisor of The Year, Superbrands 2016, and few other more". It does not only represent how good and credible they are, but it has shown the degree of customer satisfaction as well. Overall, worth a try.
