Le Nu is one of the modern establishment that redefine the local cuisine into a certain level of uniqueness. Contemporary noodle dishes from across the nation are equally impressive here. Done with the introduction, now moving to the real world.
Tucked away in Vivocity, the largest shopping mall in Singapore, Le Nu is kind of accessible for those who are living in South Coast area of Singapore. The sleek and oriental interior design is what impress you at first while the fast and responsive service would come next. Even though the place is always packed with people, it does not reduce their quality of food and service. Just find your seat anywhere and enjoy the relaxing ambiance all the time. Also, if you got a chance to seat at the bar table, it will give you more chances to smell the beautiful aroma of a nicely cooked meal.
Small portion, big flavor. This Chilled Sugarcoated Whitebait (S$ 2.90) could be your choice of appetizer since it comes really fast less than 5 minutes after you proceed the order. It's crispy, sweet and enjoyable. I love the texture of that fish which is caramelized beautifully and flavourful. With a touch of roasted peanut and sesame seeds, this menu is much more entertaining than it looks.
Next stop is Spicy Wonton (S$ 5.90). A beautifully handmade Chinese dumpling tossed with chili oil and soy sauce, dressed with green onion. Whenever you bite it, there would be a juicy sensation at first followed by the softness of that skin that just melts in your mouth. That chili oil is simply amazing that added some kind of heat into your palate. Salty, spicy, and flavorful all in one bite.
Moving on to their main entrée called Braised Fresh Beef Noodle (S$ 9.90). Featuring a nicely executed noodle with ultra-tender beef and rich collagen soup. The perfect-textured noodles result in beautiful smooth strand whenever you pull it and that 12 hours simmered soup is rich in flavor and just creamy. This beautiful harmony in a plate would satisfy your palate, indeed.
The real star of modern Chinese noodles menu is probably Japanese Scallops Lamian (S$ 8.90). Showcase you the award winning noodle tossed with chili oil and served dry, topped with succulent pieces of scallop and half-boiled egg. Whenever you start steering it, all of the good aromas is simply irresistible and caught you mouthwatering all the time. It's smooth, spicy and salty somehow. Best in its class.
For the beverage, the option is only a few. Instead of trying something uncommon, I just have some Iced Water. It is simply refreshing and removes the oily texture after you have it.
LeNu is absolutely worth a try. The bowl of perfection, the warm ambiance, and responsive service is what to expect from them. You can say a dozen noodle house in Singapore, but then this prestigious brand is top in its class.
