Pop in here for something white and artistic, since everything is there. In DW Workshop, guest can experience several concepts in one location including café, brunch place, and workshop venue. Knowing they are quite hidden, some of you might haven't heard this before. But the fact, this venue has becomes much more popular nowadays. More youngsters love to spend their time here while having a cup of coffee together with healthy food as well.
This cozy café is located at the Rochester Drive exactly next to Pies & Coffee. With unique industrial design, great spacing, and huge coffee bar, no one would spend 1 hour here. Perhaps, they would stay a bit longer. This brand occupied the two-story building with an indoor and outdoor section. If you are hipster foodies, an outdoor section with al fresco dining concept might suit you well. However, there is an iconic fireplace at the indoor section that you just won't missed.
Apart from what it looks, the service is just great here. All the staff is friendly and humble. They are very fast in taking your order and served you with the complimentary iced water directly.
I proceed to dessert and beverage directly since my visit last time only lasted for a short time period. However, the uncommon part I stick here.
Start with the crowd pleaser menu called Lemon Curd Tart (S$ 8.90). A nicely baked French pastry with a thick pastry crust, creamy custard, and sweet presentation. When you give a little touch to it, that bright layer is just separated from its body which means so smooth. The other good thing about this is the right sweetness level of that filling that absolutely perfect to be paired with a cup of coffee.
Matcha Pie (S$ 8.90) is hard to resist. The leaf color filling is flavourful. You can feel the strong match flavor in there without harshening your tongue. Therefore, you can find a crispy and thick layer of cookie crumble when hitting the ground. How do you think?
If you are a classic person who stick with the classic type of cake, of course, Carrot Cake (S$ 8.90) is a must. With spongy cake layer, thick cream cheese, and roasted peanut, you will love every bite of it. Not the best in its class, but quite satisfying in terms of flavor and texture.
Some kind of Muffins also available here. For those who love the blueberry one, go grab fast.
Cappuccino (S$ 9.00) is what they are known for. A smooth and strong cup of coffee with creamy foam and sweet milk. Served with a couple pieces of cookie for a perfect match.
I do try the Iced Caramel Latte (S$ 7.90), but unfortunately, the taste is far below my expectation. The coffee is too milky and absolutely sweet. It almost impossible to taste the real flavor of caffeine, since the caramel sauce is overloaded.
Cold Brew (S$ 9.00) is not good-looking but it taste surprisingly better than any other beverages. It's bold in flavor, quite nutty and simply refreshing. You can feel the smoothness of it as soon as you sip it.
Iced Matcha Latte (S$ 7.90) is quite Instagenic but the flavor is not even there. I only can taste the milk flavor with a hint of green tea powder. One way to fixed this is by fixing the ratio between milk and green tea powder.
Lotus Biscuit Latte (S$ 7.90) is a good ending. If you ever imagine the most-favourite regal biscuits mixed with a cup of coffee and turned into this unique beverage. Actually, the taste is quite sweet, kind of buttery and there is a crunch sensation from that biscuits. They called this as their signature drink and it's kind of acceptable. Must-try.
DW Workshop is absolutely a hidden gem in West side of Singapore. The place is huge, cozy and honey. You can spend a lot of quality time here while doing your remote job.
