Brewerkz - Handcrafted Beer and Cheese Nachos

Brewerkz

When it comes to microbrewery restaurant in Singapore, Brewerkz tends to be the best in its class. Established in 1997, Brewers draws its popularity from the good brewery and all those meal options. From the all-star, pulled pork burger to the ultimate cheese nachos is all set in tasteful settings. Plus point all meal comes in huge portion but still affordable. No wonder during meal time and the evening, this venue always packed with people.

Tucked away in Clarke Quay exactly one row with Jumbo Restaurant, Brewerkz own a very big space at the corner. Stepped inside the bar, the guest would be greeted by friendly staff, hot seat, and unstoppable brewing process. Some facilities like billiard or tv cable are all available here to add the fun side of your meal. From the interior perspective, you will love how warm and cozy the place is. By using the minimalist lighting and huge bar table, surrounded by the open-air space, every minute you spend here is just priceless.

Cheese Nachos

Cheese Nachos

The crowd pleaser menu is here. Cheese Nachos (S$ 28.00) is a fantastic light bite for share. It's salty, crispy and flavourful. You will love how that Sour cream goes together with the cheese layer to balanced all the flavor. Simple yet appealing.

Chili Cheese Fries

If you are a fries fanatic, this Chili Cheese Fries (S$ 18.00) is absolutely a must. With lot minced meat, cheese sauce, and thick cut fries, your palate would certainly satisfied. I can suggest that meat is the one they use for spaghetti bolognese as well. No wonder it got kind of juicy, meaty and tomatoey texture like usual.

Pork On Roll

Pork On Roll

Instead of that pasta, I still prefer to have this Pork On Roll (S$ 29.00) with Truffle Fries. That meat is the real star of this dish. Tender, juicy and flavorful for sure. Wrapped in a buttery-airy bun, this meal is just comforting for everyone.

Steak Sandwich

Signature menu collection called Steak Sandwich (S$ 29.00). Featuring the handmade thick bun with juicy pieces of rib eye steak and fresh vegetables. It's simple, juicy and tender. However, I feel this dish is too heavy to be served as a sandwich. Better to taste that meat on its own.

Beer Tower

After having a long and tiring day, just bring your friend here and enjoy the Beer Tower (S$ 108.00). I am not a big fan of beer, but this one definitely entertains me. It's kind of sweet and refreshing for my liking. Since it comes in huge size, just share with 5 - 6 people at max.

Brewerkz

Brewerkz is never lack of customer. The queue is always long and people can spend more than 2 hours here. Make sure to reserved your seat now instead of walk-in visitation.

Island Café & Bar – Modern Brunch at Downtown of Singapore

Island Cafe & Bar

Island Café & Bar has become the much-talked café in town recently. People from across the country including many tourists always come to this place to enjoy the glorious Asian fusion menu like no other. The variety of tantalizing dishes including Indonesia Nasi Goreng, Tahu Telur or even Gula Melaka Café is absolutely made from scratch and fresh upon order.

Established in 1993, Island Café & Bar had undergone a quite big transformation. Back then, the venue is quite dark and cozy, but now it’s just bright and shining. Understanding each of you wouldn’t leave without taking a snap of your meal, this kind of décor works well, though.

At the indoor section, the main theme is influenced by Scandinavian settings while at the outdoor scene guest can step into the huge balcony and enjoy the panoramic scene of downtown part Singapore. Knowing that the crowd seems to be high every day, due reserved your seat instead of walk-in visitation.

Tauhu Telor

Tauhu Telor

Tauhu Telor

One of the best menu here is Tauhu Telor (S$ 12.00). Featuring the nicely cooked bean curd omelet topped with roasted peanuts and bean sprouts, bathed in rich spicy soy sauce. It’s juicy, crispy, and soggy. I love the strong wok hei aroma of that egg but not overcooked. Paired this with a couple of steam rice for the best experience. Also, if you love spicy food, do ask for sambal to be paired with this.

Straits Fries

Straits Fries

Straits Fries

Straits Fries (S$ 10.00) means to be share. With rich salted egg powder, crinkle cut fries, and more curry leaf, each bite is just worth the calories. Not too strong, but kind of salty and sweet. That fries is the real winner with nice golden brown skin and soft texture. Definitely must-try.

Coffee Walnut Cake

Gula Melaka Cake

Salted Caramel Red Velvet Cake

There is a wide array of the sweet tooth here. If you are looking for the best-seller one, Coffee Walnut Cake (S$ 10.00) and Gula Melaka Cake (S$ 10.00) could be the idea. It’s moist, pillowy, and sweet. Especially it comes in a nice presentation, no one would miss the moment for Instagram Story or Snapchat those cake.

Iced Lemon Tea

Iced Lemon Tea

For the beverage, some table just goes with Iced Lemon Tea (S$ 7.00) or Iced Latte (S$ 7.00). It’s sweet, kind of refreshing and aromatic. Such a quintessential beverage to kill this hot and sunny day.

Island Cafe & Bar

Island Café & Bar is seriously amazing. All menu is quite pricey, but taste undeniably delicious. Do expect everything above to enjoy the hearty fine dining experience.

Tiong Bahru Bakery at TANGS Orchard – Fine Pastry, Strong Coffee, and Everlasting Brand

Tiong Bahru Bakery

When you start typing on Google like the best café in Singapore or maybe the best croissant in Orchard, Tiong Bahru Bakery is always on top of the list. It is not because they do a lot of advertisement like any other else's does, but it is because they set a high-quality pastry like no other. That is why this café is always packed with people.

Founded in 2012 by celebrity baker Gontran Cherrier, Tiong Bahru Bakery is not-so-new but survive over time. So far they got 3 outlets in Singapore. The one that you see here is located in Orchard area.

Tiong Bahru Bakery

Tiong Bahru Bakery

Occupying a small corner at Tangs Plaza Level 1, this venue capable of handling around 20 people at the same time. There is a tourist there, a group of business person, and more loyal customer like me. None of them is even familiar with this place.

Fresh Pastry

Scone

Cake Tiong Bahru Bakery

Brownie

Quiche

Stepped inside the venue, guest can see a modern interior design with a touch of gold and green. The ambiance itself is just warm and comfort enough for you to stay a bit longer. I do love the big food gallery at the front that showcases everything fresh and delicious. Just follow the queue line and find out whatever you like there. The humble and friendly staff is more than ready to take your order quickly with a smile.

Green Tea Almond Croissant

Green Tea Almond Croissant

Green Tea Almond Croissant

More than 30+ pastry available there, but only a few of them is totally stand out. If you ask me personally, Green Tea Almond Croissant (S$ 4.00) is the best here. The pastry is flaky on the outside but remains buttery on the inside. Also, there is a rich green tea filling at the core that totally sweet and smooth. When it goes together to your mouth, the dynamite flavor will surprise you. I ever try so many croissants in my entire life, but none can be as good as this.

Original Kouign Amann

Kouign Amann

Kouign Amann

Next thing to be tasted here is Kouign Amann (S$ 3.50). A simple French pastry containing layers of butter and sugar is undeniably delicious. The pastry is crunchy with sweet caramelized texture and quite buttery as well. Just have this with a cup of latte for the best experience. How do you think?

Berries Crumble

Chocolate Banana Crumble

The other crowd pleaser menu here is Berries Crumble (S$ 6.80) which taste so sweet and fruity. I love the thick pastry layer with more crumble on top of it. Crunchy, sweet, and creamy on every bite of it.

Sandwich Tiong Bahru Bakery

Gammon Beurre

Speciality Bun with Ham and Cheese

From the savory side, go try the Speciality Bun with Ham and Cheese (S$ 9.00). Featuring the handmade soft bun with tender pieces of ham, salty cheese, and fresh lettuce. It's salty, soft, and flavorful. Even though it looks simple, the flavor has satisfied me a lot. Taste better than my expectation before.

 Salmon Burger

Charcoal Bun with Salmon and Tomato

Most of you might be looking for the most Instagenic one like Charcoal Bun with Salmon and Tomato (S$ 9.00). A black-buttery bun with tender pieces of meat and fresh lettuce as well. Whenever you press it, you can feel all the juiciness and moistness remain there. Compare to the previous one, I can say both of them is good, but I do love the Speciality Bun with Ham and Cheese more. It's simply tasty, though.

 Tiong Bahru Bakery

I always love to have a cup of Latte (S$ 5.50) with that choice of pastry. It's nutty, strong, and quite acidic as well. The perfect ratio between milk and espresso is what impress me a lot, beside that beautiful latte art on top.

Tiong Bahru Bakery

Tiong Bahru Bakery is my number one destination for a croissant and kouign amann in Singapore. All the pastry is made fresh and tastes undeniably delicious. Besides that, all the menu comes at an affordable price and none of them cost you above S$ 10.00. From the Instagram perspective, you can take a lot of picture here that perfectly match your profile. Foodies, this is what you are looking for.
