Bay Hotel Singapore's STREET 50 Restaurant & Bar is raising the game in the Year of the Rooster with auspicious home-style festive delicacies symbolizing not just one, but all the 12 Chinese zodiac animal signs in their buffets from 27 to 30 January 2016.

Even the yusheng dish is specially created to have the ‘dragonbird' significance so you can toss to abundance and fortune with the heavenly combination of the luxurious lobster meat and the nourishing goodness of bird nest in the lobster meat and the nourishing goodness of bird nest in the Lobster Yusheng with Bird Nest (S$ 38.00++ for Regular / S$ 68.00++ for Large). Regular is suitable for 4 pax while large is suitable for 8 – 10 pax.

After a good toss, you may crow with delight with the crowd pleasers which are comprised of the following 11 Chinese zodiac-representative dishes, amongst many others in the hearty buffet spread.

Start strong with Wolfberry Drunken Herbal Chicken (Zodiac: Dog). The hero cleverly incorporates chicken since it is the Year of the Rooster but the dish represents the Dog as the Chinese word in wolfberry sounds like a dog in Chinese. With Dag Gui or Chinese Angelica Root and Chinese wine, the dish is given a nutritious boost with a generous sprinkling of wolfberries and embellished with ginger and spring onion.

 Deep Fried Yam with Crabmeat and Pearl Mushroom

Next is Deep Fried Yam with Crabmeat and Pearl Mushroom (Zodiac: Pig). With yam and crab meat deep-fried to a golden crisp and paired with plump pearl mushroom in Cajun powder, it is both an auspicious and delicious starter.

 Braised Dried Treasures Pot with Sea Cucumber and Snake Gourd

Braised Dried Treasures Pot with Sea Cucumber and Snake Gourd (Zodiac: Snake) is also interesting. Featuring a snake gourd-like emerald lending appeal to the dried seafood such as the auspicious fish maw, dried oysters, mushroom, sea cucumber, and fa cai in a pot, it is a Chinese New Year dish not to be missed.

Rock Salt Baked Chicken Thigh (Zodiac: Rooster) clearly represents the beauty of this year. With dang gui and Chinese wine, this rock sea salt-baked chicken thigh is not only rich in oriental touch but signifies or affinity of bringing people together.

 Monkey Mushroom with Chinese Spinach

For the vegan side, there is a dish called Monkey Mushroom with Chinese Spinach (Zodiac: Monkey). Featuring a vegetarian dish with a trio of monkey mushroom, bailing mushroom, and Chinese mushroom, atop a bed of Chinese spinach, makes it a must-have dish on the first day of the lunar new year.

Mongolian-Style Grilled Lamb Chop (Zodiac: Goat) presents the meaty grilled lamb chop seasoned with Chinese wine, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves and fennel seeds, will let you eat to your heart's content.

 Chilli Tiger Prawns

Chilli Tiger Prawns (Zodiac: Tiger) is a great menu of remarkable tiger prawns bathed in rich Singapore-style chili crab paste and egg. There would be a strong aroma and nice presentation for this dish. Guest can expect for more.

 Mee Ta Mak Laksa

Mee Ta Mak Laksa (Zodiac: Rat) is part of the noodle station, this mee ta mak laksa should be the first to dash to, just like the rat which omes first ahead of the other 11 Chinese zodiac signs.

 Braised Longevity Noodles with Lobster Meat

Braised Longevity Noodles with Lobster Meat (Zodiac: Dragon) is also a time to celebrate long life and braised longevity noodles with lobster meat and Sze Chuan paste will be the way to add many more years to your new year.

Yam Paste with Water Chestnuts and Gingko Nuts

Last but not least is Yam Paste with Water Chestnuts and Gingko Nuts (Zodiac: Horse). Cap off the sumptuous buffet with this divine dessert that will let sweetness and harmony linger on the whole year around.
