Springleaf Prata Place – Introducing New Menu: Salted Egg Prawn Prata

The latest addition to Singapore culinary scene is here. Continuing its successful story of prata and murtabak, Springleaf Prata Place revamped its menu and comes out with the new one by using salted egg ingredients. It's huge, juicy and flavourful. Another good thing, about this menu, is it comes in a huge presentation that fit for 2 – 3 people. 

Besides that new offering, the classic favorite like egg prata, ultimate murtabak, and maggie goring is also best here. All menu made fresh upon order and served within 15 – 20 minutes during peak hours. Just come earlier for faster and quicker service.

Tucked away in Hillview exactly at the Rail Mall, this place is kind of hidden gem within the area. What we love the most from Springleaf Prata Place is the vibrant atmosphere with minimalist décor. The great spacing between each table, the excitement from its crowd and the beautiful aroma from perfectly cooked prata are all set. However, the service is not consistent and sometimes slow. Not every staff would take care of you and somehow they just focusing on the back scene.

Start from the crowd pleaser menu called Salted Egg Prawn Prata (S$ 10.90). A hearty combination between homemade dough, salted egg sauce and succulent prawn results in unbelievably delicious flavor. That dough is well executed with a crispy exterior and spongy interior while the salted egg sauce contributes a strong salty and sweet flavor to it. Perfected with rich curry sauce on the side, feel free to dip it, drizzle it or even mixed it up the way you want.

 Ultimate Murtabak

Ultimate Murtabak (S$ 12.00) is first introduced in The Ultimate Hawker Fest 2012 and gain more popularity since the launch. Wrapped with Portobello mushroom, tandoori chicken, and mozzarella cheese, this murtabak would deliver a strong meaty, eggy, and cheesy flavor to satisfy your palate. Comes in A4 size, this menu is perfectly designed for share.

 Egg Prata

Another good menu is Egg Prata (S$ 3.80 / 2 pieces) which arrived piping hot and got a crispy exterior with fluffy interior. Within that price tag, it is definitely worth a try.

 Maggie Goreng

 Kwey Tiao Goreng

Still not enough? Just go with the heavy one like Maggie Goreng (S$ 4.00), a nicely cooked instant noodle using multiple spices, egg, and chicken. Other option might be Kwey Tiao Goreng (S$ 4.00) that taste tomatoey and quite sweet somehow.

For the beverage, do expect for Teh Tarik and Ice Coffee since it tastes so authentic here. If you feel curious about the process of making it, just go straight away to the beverage counter and enjoy the show. Iced Water or even some canned drinks also available.

Springleaf Prata Place is our favorite destination for prata and murtabak. Each menu made fresh upon order and taste so delicious. Despite the fact that service is not satisfying somehow, we still having a good time here with warmth ambiance and great food at its reasonable price.
