This home ground brand serves up serious curry rice that tastes so authentic. Together with a plenty of Japanese side dishes, guest can mix and match whatever they like for each plate. None of the menus cost above S$ 9.00 which means all is wallet friendly. Despite the fact it sounds quite cheap, the presentation for each menu also well maintained. To conclude, Washoku Goen is a right destination for food expert who wants to enjoy Japanese curry rice with no apologies.
Washoku Goen currently having 3 outlets across the nations. Most of them are located in Kopitiam or even Food Republic, where dozens stall competes to attract the customer. Owning only a small space doesn't mean they look untidy, but it just looks so simple and genuine. While one customer at the front looking for the menu, you who stand at the back can enjoy the live cooking show together with petite food rack at the corner. Even the service is really fast proven by less waiting time for only 10 minutes until your meal is ready. However, there is still a queue there.
Chicken Katsu Omelette Original Curry Rice (S$ 7.90) needs no explanation since it appears so stunning. A peaceful combination between ultra-juicy battered chicken atop fluffy omurice and bathed in strong curry sauce is just delicious. Whenever you taste it, there would be a crunch sensation at first followed by creamy sensation from sauce. The portion looks big, but it takes 5 - 10 minutes to finish it. The crowd's favorite menu is here. Croquettes Original Curry Rice (S$ 6.90) featuring a Japanese delicacy that made from scratch and taste quite simple as it looks. What we love the most from this is that croquette which got a crispy exterior and soft interior. Together with curry sauce, the flavor of this protein has been lifted but not as tasty as the other. However, we still enjoy this anyway.
Still not enough? Go grab some side dishes like Ebi Furai, Croquette, Egg, or even Fish Fillet that is located at the food rack on the corner. Kindly ask the staff for more assistance.
