Having 500 stores across the world has proven their brand reputation. In Singapore, they own 3 outlets, and the one that you see here is located 313 Somerset. Stepping inside the main dining area, a traditional Japanese table setting surrounded by nice wallpaper and spacious sitting capacity will greet diners first. Then, each staff would spread the list of menus for the diners to take a look and choose whatever they like. Since the service is quite fast, it takes approximately 15 minutes until your meal is served right in front of you.
For Saboten specialties, Chicken Katsu Don (S$ 19.90) is absolutely stunning. Featuring a perfectly crispy chicken bathed with rich egg layer atop Japanese fragrant rice results in a beautiful harmony in your mouth. Juicy, eggy, and salty on each spoon of it. Plus point whenever you dig in, all the beautiful aroma will be released and caught you mouthwatering all the time. Definitely worth the calories.
Nothing can beat their crowd favorite, Iberico Loin Katsu (S$ 26.90). A beautiful row of ultra crispy juicy pork belly together with soft potato croquettes and succulent ebi furai will create an unstoppable crunch sensation in your mouth. What we love the most from this menu is that extra tender meat with a cheesy layer at the core. Whenever you placed it in your mouth, the lip smacking sensation would be unveiled as soon as the melt-in-mouth texture as well. Served together with rice on the side, this menu is absolutely perfect for any occasion. How do you think?
If pork is too common, the just go with Chicken Katsu (S$ 26.90) that using a same method of plating. Perhaps, we love the succulent texture of that chicken which is better than the pork. Available only for this season.
Saboten also served you a free flow Cabbage, Rice, and Soup by ordering any type of meal. For extra curry sauce, it would cost another S$ 3.00. But still, it is worth a try.
Choice of beverages might be Hot Ocha, Iced Water or Sapporo Beer. If you are an alcoholic person, beer is a must. Because we found each table keep on order it.
Saboten is a home for best Tonkatsu in Singapore. Owning a huge spacing and well-trained staff has become their ultimate characteristics while the food itself is the main concern here. The price might be quite high, but we definitely love our visit here.
