Tensho by MOF - Affordable Bowls Of Tempura In Singapore

 Tensho by MOF

If you ever saw a bowl of Mixed Tendon lately, that belongs to Tenso by MOF. The heartwarming creation is all made from scratch. Offering only two type of Tempura menu and some collection of simple beverages is what to know from them. Even though it sounds too simple; the crowd remains there. Because they just launched less than a month ago.

Ideally situated in the downtown area makes the guest feel convenient to visit this venue. The minimalist interior filled with wooden furniture would never go wrong. Perhaps, the most interesting displays of 'kitchen live' would attract more people to check-in. Having less than 10 staff make the service not-too-responsive and you need to wait for approximately 15 minutes until the menu served in front of you. But still its worth a try.

No appetizer and go straight with the entrΓ©e, Mixed Tendon Bowl (S$ 14.90). A peaceful combination between 6 type of tempura includes fish, prawn, egg, green beans, sweet potato and eggplant results in a complete meal for everyone. Compared to its contender who only got 5 type of tempura in one bowl, this dish got its first mark. What caught your attention next is the oozy egg yolk that comes from the egg. Meanwhile, from the protein perspective, that fish is the only one who nailed my standard in terms of flavor and texture. Just mixed it up together to achieve the best flavor of this dish.

 Vegetable Tendon Bowl

The second option is the robust bowl of Vegetables Tendon Bowl (S$ 13.90). Some people might be a bit worry if there are no meat on that plate since, in the Tempura philosophy, the best part is located on that protein itself. But surprisingly, my preferences goes well with this. It's crispy, fresh and well balanced. If we getting insights, the way they battered that vegetables are far better than it protein, because the crispiness layer of it might appear different and more satisfying. For meat dieters, this bowl is dedicated for you.

For the option of beverages, my suggestion is to take the Ocha (S$ 1.50) since it tastes more authentic and naturally clean up the oily texture after you taste that Tempura. Some can of coke or even lemon tea is also available, but still, it depends on your preferences. In fact, on any Japanese dining, you need to have a cup of Ocha beside your meal.

Also each bowl will comes together with a side of Chawan Mushi. This kind of appetizer is quickly served right in front of you after you receive the seat. Perhaps, it taste quite eggy and fluffy.

Keeping up with the food trend is the only way to be famous and a bit of modification of it would make it even more significant. And yes, this generous idea has been applied by Tenso by MOF. Specialise in a Tendon Bowl give the customer a specific answer for their meal. Perhaps, each bowl tastes quite good and authentic. What they need to do is improve the consistency for each bowl served here.
