Pepper Bowl - Hawker Food That's Truly Outstanding

With a menu emphasizing the Japanese comfort food, Pepper Bowl is a good example of interesting hawker food stall on the country. Offering four types of the menu with three different types of protein is more than enough to attract many customers. And guess what, they are easy to sell out. Because the queue would never get stop even on weekday lunch. Just plan your visit then.

Strategically located at Amoy Street Food Centre, this stall is 8 minutes away from Telok Ayer MRT Station by walking. You can easily spot this stall by looking at how long that queue is. The reason they are truly famous now is just because they have been featured on Makan Sutera Guide. One of the popular tvs shows for food and cooking. That is why people keep on coming back for this.

One must-try dish straight from its name suggest is Black Pepper Beef Rice Bowl (S$ 5.00). It is truly intense in flavor, rich in texture, and well presented. What people love the most about this dish is that ultra-juicy protein has absorbed the tastiness of that beautiful sauce. It is clearly shown how good they are in cooking process and using the fresh ingredients as well. On top of that, an additional Onsen Egg ($ 0.60) partially add more flavor into that bowl. Perhaps, the presence of that egg has to escalade the whole presentation for sure.

Another significant dish is the Spring Onion Pork Rice (S$ 4.50). The tender pieces of meat are richly flavorful, with a strong blast of garlic and spring onion. The major highlight of this dish is located at the pork itself that has been cooked to perfection. Along with that, a simple Onsen Egg ($ 0.60) is also necessary to push up the texture and add more creaminess to that bowl. The real definition of the good meal is here.

Pepper Bowl is a right destination for Singaporean dining scene. They served a really good food that doesn't cost you a lot. Worth a queue along with the calories.
